Minerva - Art Gallery
At Minerva we encourage and foster the advancement and understanding of the development and impact of arts and creativity in the community. We hope to provide a platform to promote various types of art and creativity with a theme of, cultural, social and community fellowship through creative endeavors of all types. Minerva is currently spotlighting the works of local, regional and international artists.
One of our goals is to nurture and support others who are seeking to express themselves. We are grateful to have the opportunity to meet so many extraordinary people through this endeavor.
Minerva is demographically located at 203 Maxwell Street in the Cotton District of Starkville, Mississippi. The Cotton District was founded and developed by Dan Camp.
By virtue of location, Minerva is incorporated into the annual Cotton District Arts Festival with as many as 40,000 attendants each year, the annual Bulldog Bash, and the Old Main Street Festival, which draws over 20,000 people respectively, for the festival's concerts and artisan activities.
We encourage visitors to stop by and browse and share their thoughts.
A bit about the name: Minerva was the Roman goddess of wisdom, the sponsor of arts, trade, and strategic warfare. We hope to embody the characteristics of Minerva as they relate to arts, trade and creativity.
