Robert Long has been head of the ceramic arts program in the Department of Art at Mississippi State University since 1990. He studied at the University of California in Sacramento receiving a BA in Art before going on to earn an MFA in Ceramics at Clemson University.
Robert's work has been featured in numerous one-person and group exhibitions throughout the U.S. and abroad including more recently the “Third International Small Teapot Exhibition” at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, Calif.; “100 Teapots III” at the Baltimore Clayworks in Baltimore, Md.; the “National Juried/Invitational Cup Show” at the Isadore Gallery in Lancaster, Penn.; “It’s Only Clay” national juried ceramics exhibition at the Bemidji Art Center in Bemidji, Minn.; the “Wichita National All Media Craft Exhibition” at The Wichita Center for the Arts in Wichita, Kan.; the Lillstreet International, D rink:Functional Forms for Every Libation” at the Lillstreet Art Center in Chicago. Ill., and in 2007 a solo exhibition at the Sekitei Gallery in Hiroshima, Japan.
